My organization is based in New York. Will this training help me comply with New York State’s new Code of Ethics and Core Competencies?

Yes. The Arc of Delaware County’s approach to caring without restraints and its expertise in the disability field is recognized and well regarded by New York’s Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). The training offered through fwdshift is designed to help New York State service providers establish an organizational culture that supports sustainable compliance with the Code of Ethics and Core Competencies. In fact, The Arc of Delaware County’s fwdshift programs represent the only comprehensive approach that will enable organizations in New York to meet state requirements for achieving core competencies, meeting ethical requirements and demonstrating measurable outcomes while reducing/eliminating abuse.

Can individuals sign up for your trainings, or are they designed for teams from a single organization?

Our trainings are designed primarily for teams that work together at a single organization, but some programs such as Vantage Point are well suited for individuals as well. We also offer public seminars and other publications for individuals who would like to learn more about the fwdshift philosophy and method.
